What are some of your favorite bands?

Right now I'm really into Yeasayer and Bon Iver, but my all time faves are Jimmy Eat World, Neutral Milk Hotel, and Lucero. I love new music though, if you ever have a recommendation let me know!

What do you suggest to people who are just starting out blogging? How do you get readers?

My blog started out as a strictly knitting blog, and I used the knitting community website Ravelry a lot, which has it's own blog reader. I think a lot of people that read my blog found me through that.

My only other suggestions would be to write what you want to see. Have fun with your blog and make it into something you enjoy, don't try to do things just because it might get you a lot of traffic.

My other suggestion is to share the love! I try to comment on other people's blogs as often as I can, as long as I have something pertinent to say. Other people will follow you through that, and it opens up the possibility of making internet-friends who might have bigger blogs.

I'm really not too concerned about traffic, it's definitely humbling and nice to see my followers grow, and I hope I'm entertaining enough to make it worth your while, but really my blog is an outlet for me, like a diary.

What is currently in your purse? Post a photo if you can!

Right now there's a ton of crap in it, wrenches, boxcutters, tape... Everything that didn't get put in a box when we moved got shoved in my purse. I'm bad about cleaning it out, so it's still all in there. I'll clean it out and post a pic soon!

What is your favorite craft? What craft do you do most often?

Knitting is really my favorite craft, it will always hold a special place in my life. But recently I've been doing more crochet projects and working with felt. I want to start sewing more too! I wish I could spend all day every day crafting!

What is your favorite television show?

I looooovvvve Dexter, and Chris and I like watching True Blood and Breaking Bad. I'm totally obsessed with Forensic Files.

What are your top 5 favorite movies?

I'm totally obsessed with Ponyo right now, it's a Studio Ghibli/Hayao Miyazaki film that was put out by Disney/Pixar. It's wonderful! Other than that, I really like Say Anything, O Brother Where Art Thou, Drag Me to Hell, and Wall-E. Sort of all over the place!

How old were you when you started knitting?

I taught myself when I was 18!

what are your favorite things to shop for?

Gosh, clothes I guess! Target and Old Navy? Killer. I'm really into house shopping now, like antiques and stuff. Oh, and of course yarn and craft supplies!

are you a vegetarian?

I'm not. I only eat chicken, turkey, and some seafood, though not for any particular reason. I've just never had any desire to eat red meat or pork!
