Christmas tree and thrifted finds.

Sometimes an idea pops into my head and I get a little obsessive about it. The other night as I was falling asleep I decided I wanted a white Christmas tree this year. Instead of waiting a while, or getting one the next time I went shopping, I was instantly online looking at prices (at 2am). I found a cheap one at Walmart (I know, terrible, but I can't say no to a decent price!). The next day I went out (before I even showered!) and picked up my 6.5' white tree for $40.

Yesterday Chris and I went out for ornaments. Hobby Lobby had a ton for 50% off, so we picked a color scheme and stuck with it. Turquoise for me, green for Chris. I realized I had this matching fabric once we got home, and draped it around the base as an almost-intentional tree skirt. I thought about sewing one, but I love this fabric and I'd rather not cut it up, so draped it will be!

I know it's early, but I'm excited for Christmas this year. I don't even know why, maybe because we're home this year, instead of being away at school and coming home to visit for a few days. Maybe it's because we're in a house instead of an apartment. I don't mind decorating early, plus we're going to have to add to it as we go along, so it won't be Christmas crazy all of a sudden.

The day I picked up the tree I stopped at the Goodwill in my hometown and scored this little pretty.

I've always wanted a collection of butterfly shadowboxes, but they're pretty expensive. These guys were only $5, and they're in perfect condition!

I've been hunting for a while for a Girl Scouts uniform, and I finally happened to find one. It jumped out at me, and I had to have it! It fits well, the sleeves are bracelet length (which is fine with me), and it might need to be a hemmed a bit, but it's perfect!

(I'm having some trouble with the auto-focus on my Canon Rebel, so I might be sticking with my point-and-shoot from now on. Sorry for the blurry pictures!)

I tweeted photos from the dressing room at the Goodwill, something I don't normally do, but I was soooooo excited!

I bought that belt in the photos too, only a dollar for a real leather belt! So cute!

I've been having such luck thrifting lately, which makes me want to stop in more often. Do you wear vintage clothes? Sometimes I'm grossed out by it, but if I find something perfect I'll get past that and wear vintage. Some things are too good to pass up!
