Hair tutorial (aka embarrassing video)

I've been thinking about making a tutorial video about how I do my hair for a while now, and I had today off so I figured I'd give it a shot. I get comments and emails about my hair fairly regularly, so I thought maybe you'd like to see what I do! It's nothing special, really. I had high hopes of editing this video to be much shorter and less irritating, but after hours of frustration I've given up. I spent so much time trying to figure it out though that I'm still posting it, rather than having wasted all that time and not putting it up here. So! It's in three parts, there's lots of awkwardness, and lots of time just watching me curl my hair. But, it's there if you want to watch it!

So there it is! If you made it through the whole thing, you are my hero. I'll be back tomorrow morning with a new Connections post, so check back soon!!

  3. Cute! I've always been terrified of teasing, but it looks super cute the way you do it. Maybe I'll give it a try when I'm not super lazy :)

  4. You're such a little dote! I love watching people's videos, hearing their accent and picking up on their mannerisms.

To be honest, I've had super short hair for about three years, but in the last few months I've decided to grow it again. Mainly after finding your, and Kaelah's, blogs. I *need* big hair NOW!

  7. Ack you're so fricken cute! I've tried to tease before (in my moments of Kaelah/Susannah fangirling lol) but my hair always falls like an hour later :( I think I was concentrating too much on teasing the roots, you seem to tease a lot more randomly, how far down the shaft do you tease?

Oh and I envy your bangs so bad, they're exactly how I want mine, did you cut them yourself? xxx

  9. Thanks for all your sweet words, ladies!

@Leigh: Thanks doll! I focus a lot on the roots, but I do tease it about 3/4 the way down. Curling helps the tease hold, as well as the mousse/hairspray combo...! I do cut my own bangs, and not very well! I sort of part them over the arch of my left eyebrow, and cut them at an angle, nothing special! Annnnnd for my eye makeup, I just use cheap liquid liner and wing it way out there! xoxo

  12. I just found your blog from a random tweet on Twitter - and can I just say - you are so adorable!
Thanks for this post. I have long hair about the same color as yours, and it is usually flat. Why? Because no one has ever taken the time to show me how to tease my hair, or fix it, and quite frankly, I am a lazy bum and haven't googled it either. lol.
So thank you for this post. I am most definitely going to be trying this in the near future. And I'm following your blog now too. :)

  14. I loved the videos!! I'm the complete opposite as far as hair goes. I have semi-curly hair that has a ton of body. I may have to try my hand at teasing it one day when I dry it.
    your adorable :D

  15. You are so adorable, I really enjoy reading your blog! I absolutely loved the tutorial, I've tried this before but never had much luck with the teasing part it would usually fall halfway through the day, I'll for sure be giving it another go now! I agree with the other commenter (is commenter even a word?) haha You should post a makeup tutorial for your look in this video, it's so pretty. Anyways, I'm rambling at this point, thanks for posting how you create your pretty lady hair! :)
