I've been hearing about this video meme for a while now, and after I saw Kaelah and Mike's I was able to convince Chris that we needed to make one. I think this is the first video I've posted with me in it, which is kinda weird, but now you guys know what I sound like! Don't mind my ratty hair, I thought about redoing the video because of it but then we'd lose our funny reactions and banter... So here it is! If you make one you should link me to it! I love love love having a voice to put to a face (or blog).
*EDIT* Chris and I have lived in the northwest suburbs of Chicago (fairly close to the Wisconsin border) for our whole lives, except for the few years we both lived in central Illinois during college. And Chris is tickled that you guys find him so funny! I think he's hilarious :)
AH. foodmobile. you two are cute! yay, now drag him to panera!
ReplyDeletehehe, this is awesome. ivan and i need to do one. you two are so cute :) and i love your interrupting kitty, haha.
ReplyDelete@ashley: thanks!! and he convinced me to try a new sushi place today... :(
ReplyDelete@elycia: thanks! you should do one!! Jeans is always in the way, i'm surprised he didn't knock my camera over!
cute! it's funny the differences.
ReplyDeletewe pronounce pecan like "PEE-can", route like "root", and caramel like "CARE-a-mel"
Susannah I agree with you with all of these! I'm from Ohio. Carbonated beverages with ALWAYS be POP! Soda sounds like something from the 50's or something it just sounds weird!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea!
ReplyDeleteLove the kitty!
We must be from the same area because I'm relieved I'm not the only one who says "pop" :]
ReplyDelete-Allison Kaye
we say pop here to but my spanish speaking bf says soda so I picked up soda from him!
ReplyDeleteThey will forever be known as foodmobiles to me now! That is too cool a name to pass up. Over here we call them trolleys. And roly-poly's are known as woodlouse (but roly-poly is way cuter!). I want to do one of these, I find the whole thing really interesting, but I'm too much of a wuss to go on camera.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing this, Susannah. It was fun to watch! And much love to the interrupting Mr Jeans.
HAHA! You guys are cute! Your boyfriend remind me of mine. My boyfriend hates reading & it reads all awkward like that!
ReplyDeletePS That remote control thing, omg for some reason I call it changer! and My boy makes fun of me to the MAXXXX! lol :)
FUn to watch♥
You two are adorable! Love the way you talk. Right away I assumed you would sound pretty average, but I was wrong. So unique and awesome! :) Here is mine: http://woodgrainwhale.blogspot.com/2011/01/regional-dialect-meme.html
ReplyDeleteI'm so awkward and quiet though haha
hahaha i love it! i miss those accents! wahoo! can't wait for a week full of 'em! i wonder if we'll pick up any of your accent during the trip or if y'all will get any of ours!
ReplyDeleteHahaha, I love it! I want to do this so badly, but I have to wait for a day when I'm not bummin' in my pj's, lol. Very adorable!
ReplyDeleteButton stick!?!?! haha "I probably have said that. I often talk about sunny rain spells." hahaha you guys are ridiculous.
ReplyDeleteba ha ha 'button stick' made me lol so hard
ReplyDeleteJust saw Kaelah's video and now yours. Like it :) I've always found it funny that French words sound a little different in English. I'm from the Netherlands and we use French words as 'toilet', 'crayon' 'route' and 'caramel' too, but for example, we put the emphasis on cara-MEL and ROO-tuh (route).
ReplyDeleteBy the way, 'food mobile' .. I love that one!
bwahaha! I love you two. totally cute :D
ReplyDeleteI wanna do it.. but that would be weird since I am not from the stated, right?
you guys are so freaking cute!!
ReplyDeleteyou guys are adorable and I love how he changed you to say soda! So cute!
ReplyDeleteAwww you guys are so cute!
ReplyDeleteI love that you and kaelah are bfs too!
She made me want to do one too!

I'm totally gonna start saying "button stick". That's hilarious.
ReplyDeleteso adorable. x hivennn. p.s enter my jeffrey campbell giveaway?
ReplyDeleteYou guys sound just like me! Where do you live because I'm from Michigan and I feel like the accent and words are the exact same! I'm thinking that Shane and I are going to have to do this too :)

This is cute. I vote the word yellow be added to the list. I say it like a normal person of course, but some people in WNC say "yalla"
ReplyDeleteI'm a little late here, but I have a few bones to pick with that Chris guy!
ReplyDeleteBeing from Chicago, it's POP! Not soda, sheesh.
Also, gym shoes, not sneakers. He does not have a Chicago accent what-so-ever. But I have to say, being from the southside I have a heavier "aaaaaaaA" accent.
Think Coach Ditka. Heavily embarassing.
