Shop sneak peeks!

Well hey there! Apparently I decided to disappear for almost a week. To be honest, this whole unemployed thing has thrown my game off. I definitely love having time to myself, and time to work on shop stuff, but my days sorta run together and the lack of fundage has been wearing me down. I've been in a bit of a funk for the last week or so, but I'm starting to feel better! I'm getting really close to doing a big shop update, and that always makes me happy :) It's been really nice to be able to crochet to my heart's content, and I'm really into all the new designs I've come up with. I can't wait to share more!

    1. I learned how to knit first, and flat out refused to learn how to crochet for a good six years. But now I love it!!

  4. I love your collars! I've always wanted to figure one out but I never am satisfied. My whole unemployed/self employed thing was great...getting to work on product, come up with new ideas, focus on me...it was great. But now I'm looking for another job & am in a fundage rut too.

It's weird to be 24 (I'll be 25 in December!) & have a lot of goals for yourself but feeling like you haven't been able to live up to what you want to be. I blame the economy, I blame the American Dream, I blame the you can do anything idea we're sold on. It's weird to be in a situation like this because you're better off than a lot of the world but still can't take care of yourself. I really do have faith in a self employed dream because its you, working for yourself, not working making someone else rich & paying your for your time. I do think in order to find a job we sorta have to make them.

I dunno...this is a long comment but I love all your new little goodies :)

    1. It's been nice to hear how many people are in the same spot, but it's also sad. I really agree that part of the problem was being told in high school and college that all you need is a degree and you'll be set. Then, with my major being history, I remember my advisor saying "oh, you don't want to teach? Well you can work in any other field with a background in history!" Back then I was stoked to hear it but now I totally regret not having a specific career in mind while I was in college. I graduated with no clue what field I wanted to I into. I still don't know, but had I gone into accounting or something a little more focused, I feel like I would have at least known where to start. I have faith in self employment too, I jus't don't know that it's right for me or the right time. Phew, long response haha. Thanks girl, and you know now that I have all this extra time we should try to meet up!! :)

  6. I love those collars, very cute. Sorry to hear you have been in a bit of a funk, I know how depressing it can be to be unemployed, the free time for the first couple of weeks is great, but (for me at least) lack of structure can often mean lack of doing anything constructive. Glad you are feeling better, and I am looking forward to seeing the new things in your shop xo

  12. I guess I've been a major lurker thru Google Reader...haha It *IS* a difficult adjustment...This year, I quit my day job to be a musician and I was right there - funds low, days run together and everything feels off track. But hang in there! Everything you need will fall into place and you'll find your groove :)

    1. Hi!! Thanks for coming out of lurkdom :) It is weird to have my world sort of upside down right now, but I'm really trying to take the time to ~reconnect with myself, as cheesy as that sounds :) I have hope that everything will end up alright!
