Belated Mr. Littlejeans is Weird Wednesday

I worked a 14 hour day yesterday and didn't plan ahead, so here's this weeks Mr. Littlejeans is Weird Wednesday. I know I've been sort of MIA around the blog world lately. I've been feeling really tired and rundown lately. My job is taking a lot out of me, not that it's especially hard work but I'm working a lot (which is good) and there's a lot of underlying stress because I'm working with my family. It's just been getting to me the last few weeks, and so any spare time I have I've been relaxing and recharging. Things should start slowing down at work soon, so I'm hoping to be back to normal by then!

Anyway- today's MLIWW is all about Jeansy's grip.

(doesn't he look like a little otter?)

I'm not sure if other cats are like this, but Jeans picks things up and holds them frequently. This video doesn't show the extent of his weird grip. A few times he's locked his paws around Chris's fingers and Chris has been able to lift him off the ground. Doesn't that seem odd? I didn't think cats would be strong enough to be suspended in the air supported by only their own arms strength. And for like ten seconds too!

I just wanted to say a quick hello to all my new readers! Thank you for stopping by! I appreciate all of you and the time you spend here, and I'm not being the best momma to my little blog baby right now, but I promise things will pick up soon!

Don't forget to enter my 100 Followers Giveaway! Entry ends this Sunday!!

Mr. Littlejeans is Weird Wednesday

I've been trying to snap a picture of Jeansy's little nest he's made in our linen closet, but every time I catch him in it he gets up... So instead, here's a video of Jeans kneading on his blankie (on my belly). He literally did this for ten minutes straight. I couldn't get him to stop!

Oh, and guess what?! I'm almost ready to announce my 100 followers giveaway!!! Look for it this weekend!

Mr. Littlejeans is Weird Wednesday

I've been telling you guys I would do a MLIWW post featuring Jeansy's t-shirts and sweaters, but I think I'm going to feature each one every other week or so. He doesn't have many, so it won't last too long!

I need to clarify, too, that I have reasons for putting him in tees other than that he looks cute! I bought this first sweater...

...on sale at Walmart one day. It was $1, and I had just gotten Jeans a few months before. I thought it'd be funny to put him in it once and be done with it. I didn't realize how the t-shirts and sweaters would actually help us and help Jeans.

When we first got Jeans he had a lot of behavior problems. Not just normal kitten craziness, but serious issues that were so hard to deal with (as someone who hadn't been a cat owner since 8 years old) that I considered bringing him back to the Humane Society because I was at the end of my rope. He was constantly biting us, drawing blood every single time. I still have scars all over my arms! He would frantically run around our apartment and if we were sitting on the couch he would run over us and scratch us up. He also wouldn't sleep at night. He would be up biting us and running around and knocking things down every night. He was also really good at waking me up one hour before my alarm would go off, regardless of what time it was set for. I have no idea how he knew, but everyday for months on end he woke me up one hour earlier than I wanted. At that time, I was occasionally working at six in the morning, which meant I had to get up at 4:45 am, which means he woke me up at 3:45, after I probably went to sleep at midnight. It wore me down after a while! I didn't know how to cope with it. One day Chris and I went to get groceries and I picked up this sweater. When we got home and put it on him, his behavior changed instantly. He was finally calm for once. I put it on him and he instantly laid down and started purring. I didn't connect the dots for a few weeks, but eventually we started putting it on him at night so he learned that he was supposed to calm down and go to sleep. And he did! It took about six months, but I think the sweaters (along with turning from kitten to cat) really helped him learn about nighttime sleep.

He barely ever has to wear anything to bed anymore. He usually climbs in bed with us when he's ready to sleep, and every night he sleeps in between our legs. We definitely had a rough start, but he's become the best little kitty I could have asked for!

Mr. Littlejeans is Weird Wednesday

I know it's a little late, but here it is...

This is Jeansy's blankie. He gets a little weird about it... He kneads on it sort of dazily for about fifteen minutes before he'll lay down. When I took this picture he'd actually gotten it off the couch and onto the floor and made a little nest...

Next week I plan on having a little Jeansy fashion show, I know Ashley's been looking forward to that!

he sure does love his feet.

He really loves his feet. He'll clean them for a really long time, and then fall asleep holding onto them.

I think I'm going to start a new feature on Wendesdays about how bizarre Jeans is. I love Liz's GPOWW (gratuitous picture of Walter Wendesday), so I'm totally stealing her idea and having my very own Wednesday pet feature!
