I thought it might be fun to share some of the cameras I've collected over the last few years. I don't have many, and I don't think they work, but I like how they look.

The Canon AE-1 is what I used when I took a photography class in high school, but I had an awful teacher who offered to "fix up" my camera and it hasn't worked since. I plan on taking it to a professional photography supply store and seeing if I can't get it back in working order.
Do you have vintage cameras? Do you use them or are they just for display like mine?

Aww I'm sorry to hear about your Canon. I don't have any old cameras. Just my little point and shoot sadly! :(

I've got the same Canon AE-1! It used to be my Mom's and she gave it to me! I love it and the pictures I take with it! Very special! Hope you can get your's fixed!
ReplyDeleteI have a couple old polaroid cameras, and actually, i have that exact Canon AE-1; it was my dad's primary camera way back in the day (digging through closets is my form of thrifting- ha!). Its been so long since I've used a film camera, I'm pretty hesitant with it, but I love playing around with it.
ReplyDeletemike is going to be excited to see this post :P
ReplyDeletehe wants to "introduce" each of ours with a little bio/background, etc... i'm not sure my little blog could handle it all. maybe i can get him to break it down into a handful at a time haha
don't be surprised if these go missing when we're able to get to chicago :P haha kidddding.
These are great. I have a Minolta x-370 SLR and a Realist rangefinder camera. I haven't used them yet though.
ReplyDeleteI love vintage camreas....I have one from my grandfather. I don't know if it works either but I just love looking at it!
ReplyDeleteI collect both vintage and toy cameras. i'm so sad to hear about your broken slr -- film cameras (even SLRs) can usually take a LOT of damage and still work. What a lame teacher!
ReplyDeleteThat's such a fun idea to collect vintage cameras, they're amazing. Love your blog btw x
ReplyDeletehi! i found you from LDC design's post. :)
ReplyDeletei have a vintage large format bellows camera...but it still works! i haven't used it in ages, but i'm itching to pull it out and get my old-timey photo process on! :P
