These days...

Sweater: Target (men's clearance section)
Pants: Thrifted
Slippers: Target
Gross hair: c/o not showering

Hoooooly crap, you guys. Packing is kicking my butt. I sort of forgot how terrible the whole process is, I haven't moved in two years and the last time we packed up our stuff we were living in a teeny tiny little apartment in college. But now we've accumulated tons of stuff that we have to deal with, and it's really overwhelming. I was thinking this move would be simple, easy peasy, since we're just going down the street, but I was totally wrong!

We had the day off on Monday and it was one of those days where I stayed in bed for half an hour after I woke up, had my coffee on the couch, and couldn't be bothered to shower. Gross, I know, but some days ya just gotta slum it. We ran errands and donated a bunch of stuff to Goodwill, so if you want my old crap check out the one in Vernon Hills, ha! We had dinner with Chris's dad and stepmom, and then came back to veg out on the couch. I feel pretty useless these days, but I'm excited that we're getting closer to moving and getting back into the swing of things! I hope you're all doing well, and wish us luck with the tail end of our move :)

  1. Moving can be a bitch, haha. Jen and I are experts in the panic move... One job we ended up quitting, because of the horrible and I mean HORRIBLE situation going on down there... We were in the middle of nowhere, BTW. So we needed a pack-and-move ASAP situation. The next job involved our truck and travel trailer. When you're going six hours away from "home," you wanna make sure you don't forget anything important. We were leaving around 5am that morning and I kept checking every little thing, grabbing stuff we forgot, etc. while also getting dressed and ready to hit the road...

Our last move was in 2010. We moved into our apartment, which was a bitch (so. many. stairs.) and luckily were only half an hour away from "home." So we weren't TOO worried... That was in December and in March, we lost our jobs and needed to move BACK to my in-laws in like, less than a week...

Since we were married in '07, we've fast-action moved SIX. TIMES.

Your outfit is SO cute!!! And I know you'll kick packing's and moving's butts! ;)

    1. Man I can't even imagine having to move that often, or that far away from my home area! We're literally moving six houses down the street, and it's *still* killing me!

And thank you! Sometimes comfy clothes win over pretty dresses :)

  2. Oh whatevs! You look cute even sans shower :p I posted an "outfit" post a couple weeks ago where I was literally...in my pajamas. I post my What I Wore's on Monday and all of a sudden it was Sunday and I didn't have any photos! But...I wasn't planning on showering or putting on real clothes so...pj's it was. I would totally dig through your donated items if I lived in your area.

PS - good luck with the packing. It's miserable I know!

    1. Oh my gosh that's fantastic, a pj outfit post is genius!

There's a ton of my crap at the local Goodwills! Today we took two typewriters, a vintage sewing machine, and a few boxes of knick knacks! I hope there are some vintage lovers out there who'll find my old treasures! xo

    1. Thanks dude! Also, dry shampoo is the best cure for grody hair. I've been using this brand called Not Your Mother's from Target, it's pretty great :)

I'm getting more and more excited about living in this new space, especially since we picked up some paint samples tonight :)

    1. Thank you Jamie! It's tough but we've purged so much stuff that it's actually really rewarding/relieving! I was overwhelmed at the start, but once we got into a groove we've been rockin' it!

  5. My boyfriend and I just moved into a new apartment in February just a couple of blocks away from his parents apartment that we lived in before and we still haven't moved everything :/ Luckily they haven't been in the country for awhile so our stuff isn't bothering anyone. We still have clothes there and everything. It bothers me tremendously but I still haven't just walked over (2 minutes) and gotten the stuff slowly.

And I totally love that sweater, it looks super cozy.

    1. We're gonna do something similar, since we'll be living next door to Chris's dad, we're gonna stash a bunch of our stuff in his garage! But then we're having a neighborhood wide garage sale, so hopefully we can get rid of some of it! Good luck with getting all your stuff to your new place!!

    1. Thank you! At first I picked the sweater out for Chris, but he didn't like it, so I got it instead :) At $9 I couldn't pass it up! It's super comfy, not gonna lie, I've worn it a few days in a row...!

  7. We just moved, and although I'm glad we have everything in the house, I can't find the motivation to unpack anything! It's ok to order pizza and get Subway for like the next 6 months or something right?

  8. When we moved it was really overwhelming the amount of stuff we (mostly I) had. Moving is kind of stressful but totally worth it in the end! :)

    1. It's mostly me over here, too! I just collect so many things. We've donated tons of stuff already, and have more still to get rid of. It feels really good to let go of stuff!

  9. ughhhhh moving is hell. even just thinking about it makes me feel the hell. especially when you've accumulated more things than you realized. there's ALWAYS more stuff than you think there is.

sending good luck and positive vibes! xoxo

    1. Before we started packing up I was feeling some MAJOR anxiety about packing up all the stuff, but once we got started I've found it really easy to let go of things. I totally thought that purging stuff would be a struggle, but I've been really good about getting rid of crap I don't need. I'm proud of myself! And thank you! (I've totally been blasting UTTM as motivation!!!).
