New house, new outfit.

Cardigan and belt: vintage/thrifted
Jeans: Target
Top/Dress: Forever 21

I'm here! I'm alive! I survived moving! We *just* got our internet hooked up today, and thank goodness I had my phone this last week because I hate not having internet access! We're mostly unpacked, and now I'm working on setting up each room. I'm really having fun with it, I feel like my inner interior decorator is coming out :)

When I packed up my closet, I found a ton of stuff that got buried at the back that I'm excited to bring into the rotation again. The only thing is, since I've been wearing so many knee-length vintage dresses lately, I'm not feelin' the length on all my newer dresses! Since when does a dress have to end at your buttcheeks? I know it's not the cutest trend, but I'm all about pairing my shorty dresses with skinny jeans. I remember doing this in middle school to a MUCH less fashionable effect. Today was the first time I wore my Gypsy wedges (flatforms? Isn't that a thing?), and I'm a little bit in love! I think they're gonna be my summer staple.

I'm off catch up on some Netflix with Chris, and I'm FINALLY going to get some crocheting done! I've had my hooks and yarn packed up and no time to work, but now I'm ready to get down the the knitty (crochet-y) gritty. BA-DUM_TSHHHH :)

  1. My goodness, I dig your hair!

I'm so glad you've settled in. I am a bit scared of flatforms...I feel like I'd just be shuffling along but I totally dig those cork style heels!

    1. Thank you :)

I totally had trouble walking in them at first because I was walking like they were heels, and not stepping heel-toe quite as much as normal. But then I figured it out, I just walk like normal and they're fine! Hope that makes sense :)

    1. Thank you! I used to not care that the dresses were so short because I'd wear shorts underneath, but now I can't stand even showing that much leg! There must be some tiny women that these dresses are made for :)

  3. I LOVE wedges! I'm all about the flatforms! (I agree with you- top notch word!) They make my little (by little i mean short) legs look a tad more normal- (not implying your legs aren't normal either... hole... dig...sorry!
Anyway great post glad you're settling in :)

    1. Thank you! I'm glad you like the combo because it's really comfy and I'm probably gonna pair short dresses and skinny jeans a lot, it's good to know I don't look like a doofus :)

  8. Congrats on the new place! And now you're over the crappy part of moving and get to do the fun decorating! I'm in the same boat- I've been wearing more knee length dresses & skirts and have started feeling weird in short dresses. You look so cute and definitely a more stylish version of the jeans + dress look than I used to wear back in the day :) Looove your hair.

    1. Yes! The decorating part is so fun. I used to wear flowy hippie dresses over baggy bell bottoms, definitely not cute! I'm really digging this look :) xo

    1. This is one of my more successful attempts :) It helps that the dress is hardly log enough to be a tunic, let alone a dress :)

  11. I love the outfit! I'm totally checking out Target for some jeans now :) I'm just getting into the skinny jeans trend...I know I know I'm a bit late but my first pair just called it a day and now I need more!

I feel the same way about shorty dresses. I have too much of a behind to wear those...I pair them with shorts in the summer :)

    1. I hope you found some good ones! Target's premium denim line is really great :) It's funny how cyclical styles can be, I've only worn skinnies for the last few years but now I'm starting to love flared jeans again!

  12. I love this outfit! I always pair my too-short dresses with leggings because I'm afraid I'll look too short with jeans...this totally works though!

    1. Thanks! I'm the opposite, I feel like leggings make me look short! I wish I could pull them off :)

  13. I honestly didn't even think that was a dress. It just never crossed my mind, it works so well.

    1. That's probably because it's barely long enough to be called a dress :) F21 stuff always starts *just* long enough and then after one wash it's booty shot city!

  14. You are one of the few people that can pull off a dress over jeans!
It's much better to wear tights or jeans under a short dress than not!

    1. Well thank you! I'll have to do it more often :) I love rights and bike shorts under dresses but ra getting too hot for tights! I'd be happy if it could be spring and fall temperatures year round :)

  16. I love the outfit! I agree about dresses being super short these days. I am barely 5'5, and they hardly cover my tushie.

    1. It kills me how short everything is!! I'm about 5'8" and I dot think these stores realize that women don't way their butt cheeks hanging out.
