I've seen a million cute girls wear jean cutoffs over tights but I've never tried it out myself. I got these tights on sale at Target the other day and on the shelf they look like the cutest mauve/berry color, but on they look a little more like a giant bruise. I hope it's just because I'm wearing dark colors with them because I still really like the shade!
I've been thinking about style lately, or more specifically, how I define my style. But the thing is, I don't really feel like I have a style. I just wear what I like. I put something on, and if I feel good in it, I wear it. So sometimes I wear one of Chris's skate tees and baggy jeans, and sometimes I wear a 50s wiggle dress and heels. I don't feel like I'm a stylish person, I just like what I like! But I kinda like it that way, I don't feel much pressure to keep up with trends or to look on point every day, and I don't really mind if other people think I look goofy. I definitely get some stares, but 99% of the time I don't even think twice about it.
Also, how rad are my nails right now? After almost four years of working somewhere that didn't allow me to paint them, I'm going a little crazy with the fun manicures. I really want to find an old spice rack that I can gussy up to store all my nail polishes! Just another thing I've added to my to-do list :)
I have a similar problem with a gorgeous pair of mustard yellow tights, I'm convinced I look like a Simpson from the waist down whenever I wear them! They look really good on you though doll!
ReplyDeleteI also don't have a particular style, but I prefer it that way. I love clothes so if I was going to follow fashion/trends I'd be completely broke. Instead I just wear what I like, I'm much happier that way. That said, you must be doing something right, I first followed you for your cute outfit posts, and stayed for the content!

I have mustard tights too, and I feel like they look weird! Now I'm gonna feel like I'm a Simpson too! And thank you for your sweet words :)
DeleteI definitely understand what you are saying here. I tend to march to my own drum and in my family and culture, I get called "weird" more than often. Which now I kinda like. My body has been through so many changes in the past five years (read: having a child!) that my "style" has evolved as well. Sorry for rambling! I say all this to say write: I love your style! keep doing whatever it is you are doing!
ReplyDeleteP.S. would love to see more of your crochet on the blog. Its stunning!
I can imagine that having a child would change your style! I wonder what I'll wear when I have one :) I have some new items I want to list in my shop that I'll share soon :)
DeleteOmg girl you look so sassy! I love the monochrome shoes in this piece. Keep doin you baby boo!!

You're beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI think it's way better to focus on personal style rather than focusing on trends and what others wear!
You look lovely!
ReplyDeleteI always feel like I dont have a style either, I like wearing so many different things. Sometimes its frustrating but for the most part I just say whatever to it!
This is super cute! I've always wanted to try the shorts and tights look as well... but I'm always cold!!
ReplyDeleteYeah I had to out jeans on after I took these photos! It's a really cute look though, I think you'd look great in it!!

Glad to know there's others out there with style identity qualms! I often feel the same way. I love your scarf, you've tied it so fancy-like!
ReplyDeleteJust found your blog. I love it. Your nails are so cute, and your legs look airbrushed--jealous!--I need to get some tights, too! Especially since it's getting colder.
ReplyDeleteYour hair is so adorable
ReplyDeleteOMG!!! This outfit is ultimate perfection. Love, love, love! And I am the same exact way with style. I wear what I want, what I love and I have many "labels". I described this on my blog a few days ago... I rarely post a link to a blog post in comments, but this is fitting, so yeah. ReplyDeleteIt's so important to wear what YOU feel good in. What YOU love.
And finally... YOUR NAILS!!! ♥ They remind me of sprinkle covered cupcakes!!!
You look amazing! Love the hair, the outfit, the attitude ;).
ReplyDeleteHope you're having a great weekend!
Miki.
Your nails are so festive!

I was trying to work out if you had tights on or if it was just really, really cold! Haha! Mine go a lovely shade of purple if I'm tightless in the middle of Winter. You look gorgeous xo
ReplyDeleteDamn girl! You look hot.
ReplyDeletePS- I'm still searching out some moon pies for you.
I laughed so hard when you said that your tights look like a giant bruise. Too funny! I think they look cute!
ReplyDeleteBut I also think that depending on the thickness of tights, when you wear them, the color is less saturated because its not as concentrated. Stretched over legs, they don't have the same concentration as when they're all loosey-goosey.
You look good in shorts and your "bruised" looking tights.
